About each system

GIMACPay

CEMAC region's interbank interoperable retail payment platform, operated by GIMAC (Groupement Interbancaire Monรฉtique de l'Afrique Centrale) under BEAC regulatory oversight. Covers six Central African countries (Cameroon, Chad, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea) with a shared XAF rail. Connects banks, microfinance institutions, mobile money operators, payment institutions, public treasuries and fintech aggregators, supporting person-to-person, wallet-to-bank and card-to-wallet transfers across all six countries. Mobile money now accounts for roughly three-quarters of transaction volume.

FAST

Singapore's two-layer instant payment infrastructure: FAST (Fast And Secure Transfers, 2014) provides the real-time clearing rail, while PayNow (2017) adds a proxy-based overlay allowing transfers via mobile number, NRIC/FIN, UEN, or VPA. PayNow has cross-border linkages with India's UPI, Thailand's PromptPay, and Malaysia's DuitNow. Governed by the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) under MAS oversight, the system supports P2P, P2M, and government disbursements with no transaction fees for individuals.
