CEMAC region's interbank interoperable retail payment platform, operated by GIMAC (Groupement Interbancaire Monรฉtique de l'Afrique Centrale) under BEAC regulatory oversight. Covers six Central African countries (Cameroon, Chad, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea) with a shared XAF rail. Connects banks, microfinance institutions, mobile money operators, payment institutions, public treasuries and fintech aggregators, supporting person-to-person, wallet-to-bank and card-to-wallet transfers across all six countries. Mobile money now accounts for roughly three-quarters of transaction volume.
Australia's New Payments Platform is a real-time clearing and settlement infrastructure with the Osko overlay service for consumer-facing instant transfers. PayID lets users receive money via phone number, email, or ABN instead of BSB/account numbers. Built on ISO 20022 messaging from day one, NPP supports rich data payloads and is governed by NPPA with 100+ participating financial institutions. Note: NPP data includes all overlay services (Osko, PayTo, and other mandated payment services) โ not just real-time consumer transfers.
